School of Communication and Electronic Engineering, ECNU Visits Kashgar Station
On 21 July, Xia Bing, Party Secretary of the School of Communication and Electronic Engineering at East China Normal University, led a delegation to visit the Kashgar Station of the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR), Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Accompanied by Wang Jianping, Head of the Kashgar Station, the delegation toured the station grounds and reviewed its overall planning, research layout, progress to date and technological innovation, receiving briefings on the relevant work. The two sides held in-depth discussions on remote-sensing satellite data applications, satellite-to-ground laser communications, and aerospace information technology serving high-quality regional development.
Xia Bing commended the achievements of AIR and the Kashgar Station and spoke highly of the station’s commitment to rooting itself in the border region and serving the locality. He expressed the hope that the station would draw on AIR’s strengths as a national strategic scientific and technological force to deepen and expand the application of aerospace information technology in local economic and social development. The two sides held in-depth discussions on how universities can actively align with major national strategies and local economic and social development, and on the long-term stability and interference-resistance of high-precision time reference equipment. They reached a preliminary consensus on applying a verification prototype of the high-precision active hydrogen maser technology independently developed by the ECNU research team.
The delegation also included Liu Shanmin, Associate Researcher at ECNU’s School of Communication and Electronic Engineering, along with Chen Yudong, Ren Gengpo and other officials from the Shanghai Front Command Headquarters for Xinjiang Support.
